SVG To Raster

Render an SVG to a PNG, JPG, WebP, or BMP image at an exact pixel size.

Turn an SVG into a bitmap up to 8192 pixels per side. Open an SVG, pick a format and size, keep the background transparent for PNG or WebP or choose a color, check the preview, and download the image.

No SVG selected.

You can also drop a file here.

Output Settings

JPG and BMP do not support transparency; a background color is always applied for those formats.

What SVG To Raster does

SVG To Raster does one conversion: it renders an SVG into a PNG, JPG, WebP, or BMP at the pixel size you choose. To keep the file as a vector while changing its colors or dimensions, use Recolor SVGs or Resize SVGs.

The vector is drawn at the exact output resolution instead of being stretched up from a small copy, so large exports stay crisp.

How to use it

  1. Select Choose SVG. The tool reads the size stated in the file and fills in Output Width (px) and Output Height (px).
  2. Under Output Settings, pick a format in Convert to and adjust the size.
  3. For JPG or WebP, drag Output quality. Choose a transparent or colored background.
  4. Raster Preview refreshes after every change. When it looks right, use the Download button, which names the format, such as Download PNG.

Formats and limits

  • Input: one SVG, accepted by its file type or .svg extension. A file that does not parse as SVG is rejected with an error.
  • Output: PNG, JPG, WebP, or BMP with your original file name and the new extension.
  • Size: 1 to 8192 pixels per side. A file with no stated size and no viewBox starts at 512 pixels.
  • Support for BMP and WebP varies by browser, so Convert to lists only the formats your browser can write. PNG and JPG are always there.

Settings explained

Convert to
PNG is the default and keeps transparency. JPG has no transparency. WebP can be transparent where supported. BMP is uncompressed and large.
Output quality
Shown for JPG and WebP only, from 10 to 100%, starting at 92%. Lower values give smaller files with softer edges.
Output Width (px) and Output Height (px)
The exact pixel size of the image. Both boxes unlock once a file is loaded.
Lock aspect ratio
On by default: editing either box updates the other from the SVG's own proportions. With it off, most SVGs are centered in the frame rather than stretched.
Transparent background
On by default and available only for PNG and WebP.
Background color
White unless changed. Always used for JPG and BMP, and for PNG or WebP when Transparent background is off.

Privacy

Rendering happens on a hidden canvas in this tab: the SVG is drawn, encoded to your format, and handed back as a local file. Neither the vector nor the finished image is sent to a server.

FAQ

Why is my JPG background white?

JPG cannot store transparency, so empty areas take the Background color. Choose another color, or pick PNG or WebP to keep them clear.

Why does my text use a different font?

Browsers do not load external fonts or images linked from an SVG rendered as an image. Convert text to paths in your design app, or embed the font in the file.

Why does it say my browser cannot encode the format?

Each browser decides which formats a canvas can save. Rather than hand you a PNG with the wrong extension, the tool stops. PNG and JPG are the safest choices.
