GIF Censor

Hide parts of an animated GIF with solid bars, blur, pixelate, or emoji stickers.

Place one or more boxes over the GIF. Each box can be a solid bar with optional label text, a blur, a pixelate block, or an emoji sticker. Boxes can cover every frame or a frame range, and can slide from a start place to an end place. The preview updates while you place them.

What GIF Censor does

GIF Censor hides parts of an animated GIF with boxes you place on the picture. Each box can be a solid bar in any color (with optional label text such as CENSORED), a blur, a pixelate block, or an emoji sticker.

Boxes can show on every frame or only a frame range. They can also slide: set a start place and an end place and the box moves between them while the GIF plays. The preview updates as you place and edit boxes.

How to use it

  1. Select Choose GIF and pick a .gif, or drop one on the file row.
  2. Drag the starter box, or select Add box for more.
  3. Pick a style for the selected box and set its color, label, or emoji.
  4. Use the frame range on the layer editor to limit when the box shows.
  5. Optional: move the box, select Set end position, then move it again on another frame so it slides.
  6. Watch the preview, then select Download GIF.

Formats and limits

  • Input: one GIF file.
  • Output: a GIF named after the original with -censored added, such as face-censored.gif. Frames, delays, and the loop count are kept.
  • Each frame holds up to 256 colors, so soft blurs may band a little.

Settings explained

Boxes
Add as many boxes as you need. Select one on the picture or in the layer list to edit it. Arrow keys move the selected box, and number fields set position and size.
Style
Solid bar fills the box with a color and optional label. Blur and Pixelate soften or block the picture inside the upright box. Emoji sticker draws one emoji or short text centered in the box.
Frame range
First and Last frame limit when the box shows. The range track under the picture edits the same values.
Motion
Set end position stores the current place as the end of a slide from the box start place across the frame range. Clear motion turns sliding off.

Privacy

Boxes are drawn onto each frame in this tab. The download encodes the GIF in a Web Worker on the same page. Nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

Why does Blur ignore rotation?

Blur and Pixelate sample an upright rectangle. Solid bars and emoji stickers still turn with the box.

Can boxes overlap?

Yes. Later boxes in the list draw on top of earlier ones.
