What SVG To ICO does

SVG To ICO turns an SVG into a Windows icon file that holds several sizes.

Each size is rendered from the vector, so small sizes stay sharp instead of being shrunk from one large bitmap.

How to use it

1. Choose one or more SVG files.
2. Tick the icon sizes you want.
3. Check the previews, then download the ICO.

Formats and limits

• Opens SVG files. Downloads one ICO per SVG, named after the input, such as logo.ico.
• Several SVGs download together as a zip of ICO files.
• Sizes from 16 to 256 pixels. Each size is stored as a PNG inside the ICO, which Windows Vista and later read.

What happens to a wide or tall SVG?

Icons are square. The artwork keeps its shape and is centered, with transparent space added on the short sides.

Can an SVG run script here?

No. The SVG is only drawn as an image, where its scripts and event handlers never run.

Which sizes should I pick?

For a website favicon, 16, 32, and 48 are enough. For a Windows app or shortcut icon, add 256.
