What Background Remover does

Background Remover clears a photo background with color pick or subject detection. Soft edges stay in the PNG. Replace with transparency, a color, a blurred copy, or another image.

How to use it

Select Choose image and pick a PNG, JPG, or WEBP file.
Color pick: click the preview to sample a background color, then adjust tolerance.
Subject: select Detect subject, then choose a replacement.
Drag the before and after wipe to compare.
Select Download PNG.

Formats and limits

Input: PNG, JPG, or WEBP.
Output: PNG named after the source with -no-bg.

Settings explained

Mode: Color pick removes matching pixels. Subject uses on-device segmentation.
Replacement: Transparent keeps soft alpha. Solid color, blurred photo, or another image fill the removed area.

Why is the edge soft?

PNG can keep partial transparency. Soft edges look more natural than a hard cut.
