What Video Rotate and Flip does

Video Rotate and Flip turns a clip by 90, 180, or 270 degrees and can mirror it horizontally or vertically. A CSS preview shows the result before you export.

Fast mode copies the streams and writes display rotation metadata when the file is MP4 or MOV and you are only rotating. Any flip, or other formats, re-encodes so every player sees the same pixels.

How to use it

  1. Select Choose video and pick a file. The preview appears under Preview.
  2. Choose a Rotate amount and optional Flip horizontal or Flip vertical. The preview updates with CSS transforms.
  3. Pick Fast or Exact under Export mode. The hint explains which path will run for your choices.
  4. Select Apply transform, wait for progress, then Download.

Formats and limits

  • Opens common video files the picker allows.
  • Output is an MP4. Fast rotation on MP4/MOV keeps the original video and audio bitstreams when possible. Exact mode uses H.264 video and copies audio when the stream is compatible.

Settings explained

Rotate
0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees clockwise.
Flip horizontal / Flip vertical
Mirror the picture on each axis. Requires a re-encode.
Export mode
Fast copies streams with rotation metadata when the format allows it. Exact always re-encodes the video track.

Privacy

Preview and export stay in this tab. FFmpeg loads in the page when you apply a transform. Nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

Why does another app still show the old orientation?

Fast mode relies on display rotation metadata. Players that ignore it show the unrotated pixels. Use Exact mode for a baked-in rotate.
