Device output is headerless, row-major, big-endian RGB565. Transparency is flattened onto the selected background.

What Pico Portal OS Image Converter does

Prepare images for Pico Portal OS displays, splash logos, and menu icons. Import ordinary images or headerless RGB565 BIN files, preview changes, and export big-endian device assets.

How to use it

  1. Choose, drop, or paste an image. For BIN input, check the source dimensions and byte order.
  2. Choose a display, splash logo, menu icon, or custom size. Adjust fit, sampling, anchors, and color.
  3. Review the preview, then download RGB565 BIN, download a preview PNG, or copy a C array.

Formats and limits

  • Input: browser-supported PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, or RGB565 BIN. Animated images use a still frame.
  • Output: headerless, row-major, big-endian RGB565 BIN, PNG preview, or a C byte array.
  • Dimensions: 1 to 4096 pixels per side. BIN input: at most 32 MiB.

Settings explained

Fit and sampling
Contain keeps the entire image, cover crops to fill, and stretch fills without preserving its shape. Pixel sampling keeps sharp edges.
Color and dither
Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, inversion, binary threshold, or ordered and Floyd-Steinberg dithering.
Preview alpha
Show transparency in the PNG preview. RGB565 has no alpha channel, so device output always flattens onto the background.

Privacy

FAQ

How do I make theme-colored menu icons?

Use a white icon on transparent pixels, choose 20 x 20, and set the background to black. Pico Portal OS treats black as background and uses the active theme color for non-black pixels.
