Pick a speed from 0.25x to 4x or set your own, or give every frame the same delay. Frames that would play faster than browsers allow are dropped so the length stays right, and the preview plays at the new speed.
You can also drop a file here.
GIF Speed Changer makes an animated GIF play faster or slower by changing how long each frame stays on screen. The pictures are not touched, and a GIF with uneven timing keeps its rhythm, because every delay is scaled by the same amount.
It can also give every frame one fixed delay, which evens out a GIF whose timing jumps around.
The new timing is worked out in this tab, and the GIF is encoded in a Web Worker, a background thread of the same page. Nothing is uploaded, and the file is only written when you select Download GIF.
At the speed you picked, some frames would last less than 20 ms. Browsers would hold those for 100 ms, which makes the GIF slower, so the tool drops them and keeps the length right instead.
If the frames are already short, 4x runs into the 20 ms limit. The GIF still finishes in about a quarter of the time, with fewer frames.
Dropping frames makes it smaller. Otherwise the frames stay the same, but the GIF is encoded again with its own palettes, so the size can change a little either way.
Use GIF Frame Editor, where every frame has its own delay.
