What Image Color Changer does

Image Color Changer does one job: it shifts the colors of a photo or graphic by laying a single tint over it. The pixel size never changes, so go to Image Converter to switch formats, Image Optimizer to cut the file size, and Image Resizer to change the dimensions.

The tint uses a multiply blend. Light areas take on the chosen color most strongly, mid tones pick up a softer cast, and pure black stays black. That suits warming or cooling a photo, washing a graphic in a brand color, or giving a set of images a matching look.

How to use it

  1. Select Choose File and pick a PNG, JPG, WEBP, or BMP image. Its size in pixels and bytes appears beside the buttons.
  2. Click the Color swatch and pick a tint. It starts on a light blue, #60a5fa.
  3. Drag Tint strength to decide how much of that color is mixed in.
  4. Watch the Output Preview. It redraws a moment after every change, so there is no apply button.
  5. Select Download to save the tinted copy. Browsers with a save dialog let you choose the folder and name first. Clear removes the image and the result.

Formats and limits

  • Input: PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, and BMP, one image at a time.
  • Output: JPG and WEBP files keep their type and are saved at 92% quality. PNG and BMP files come back as PNG.
  • Naming: -tinted is added to the original name, for example beach-tinted.jpg.
  • SVG files are not accepted. Recolor SVGs edits the colors inside vector files instead.

Settings explained

Color
The tint to apply. Because multiply can only darken, a deep color makes the whole picture noticeably darker, while a pale one gives a lighter wash.
Tint strength
From 0% to 100%, starting at 55%. At 0% the image is untouched; at 100% every pixel is fully multiplied by the color. Stay around 20% to 40% for a subtle cast.

Privacy

The tint is painted on a canvas inside your browser tab. Your picture is never sent to a server, and the tinted version exists only in the page's memory until you save it.

FAQ

Why did the transparent parts of my PNG pick up color?

The tint covers the whole canvas, empty areas included, so transparent pixels turn into see-through color. At 55% strength they end up about half opaque. Lower the strength if the cutout edges matter.

Can I swap one color for another, like red for blue?

No. The tool adds one tint across the entire image rather than replacing a single hue. For vector art, Recolor SVGs changes individual fill colors.

Can it make an image brighter?

Not with this tool. A multiply blend only darkens or colors pixels, so the result is never lighter than the original.

Why is the tinted file a different size in bytes?

The image is encoded again after tinting, JPG and WEBP at 92% quality and PNG losslessly, so the byte count moves up or down. Run the result through Image Optimizer if that matters.
